The 43-year-old star enjoyed a three-month fling with the 36-year-old hunk after her bitter divorce from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte last year, and is determined to keep things causal.
Friends told the MailOnline that the Spice Girl is "keeping things strictly friends with benefits" with Danny, who used to model for Playgirl.
The source told the publication: "Mel and Danny are back on. It is all very secretive and Mel has only told those in her inner circle.
"There are no definitions of their romance or relationship. They are just friends who enjoy being with one another.
"Mel tells everyone she is not looking for a serious relationship right now.
"Sure she wants to have fun, but is not looking for husband number three any time soon."
Danny is said to be "over the moon" that Mel has come back to him, having previously publicly shared his adoration for Scary Spice.
He said at the time: "I love her and she has told me that she loves me too. We had an instant connection and we have loved exploring each others bodies. I feel a deep connection to her.

The model, who has also worked as an actor, famously detailed an anecdote about his and Mel's sex life in the past - revealing that one intimate encounter was interrupted by the singer's pet goat, Phyllis.
He confessed: "We were making love on the bed and then out of nowhere we heard a 'baaahaaa'.
"And we looked up and saw Phyllis was in the corner of the room staring at us. It was hilarious like she was giving us her seal of approval."
Mel's fresh relationship with Danny comes weeks after the star shocked fans when she claimed to have had a lesbian fling with Spice Girls bandmate Geri Horner in the '90s.
Geri has furiously denied the claims, with it even being thought that the scandal could affect the upcoming Spice Girls tour.
